For some crazy reason, we thought that since Stephen was our second child and had a big brother to watch that this whole potty thing would come sooner for him. So we started trying to potty train him in May. He quickly let us know that he was NOT interested.
He was VERY interested in wearing super cool big boy underwear!
He was NOT interested in anything having to do with the potty! And,
He was NOT interested in being covered in pee!
Somehow these things just didn't go together, so we had to let go of big boy underwear for awhile.
We kept practicing off and on throughout the summer and fall with little or no success. So last weekend, we were concerned when Stephen declared...
"Mommy! NO MORE PULLUPS! Only underwear!"
But so far, so good. He had three accidents on Monday and one yesterday. So stats are improving. Actually, yesterday, he started taking trips to the potty without being reminded.
And I gotta tell you that it was weird to wake up this morning and find him sitting on the potty with his pajama pants around his ankles.
His first words to me, "I did it! Now give me my jellybeans!"
