Craft Night at the Miller's

During Sam's second week of Kindergarten, he came home with a burning question.
"Mommy, are we Alabama or Auburn fans?"

"Neither, sweetie."

"Yes, we are. We have to be. I HAVE TO KNOW!" Apparently, the brainwashing begins early here. : ) So I did what all good mommies do. I told him to call his father. Keith was still in Birmingham at the time.

Keith told him the truth, "Son, Daddy is a fan of Tennesee and anyone playing Florida." Apparently, that was not the right answer. So like all self-actualized parents, we told him to choose for himself.

By the next morning, he was an Alabama fan. His love of red won. He told me orange was not his favorite anymore. Apparently, this is how football love affairs begin.

What does this have to do with craft night, you ask? Well, Sam came home last weekend with a project. He was given one cardstock turkey and told to work with his family to come up with a "disguise." His class is decorating "tricky turkeys" to disguise them so they can survive Thanksgiving. Interesting....

They are due tomorrow, so clearly tonight was the night. Sam wanted to turn his turkey into an elephant. So we had the idea to make it more than just another elephant...His turkey would hide out as "Big Al." I am thinking we should treasure the evenings while homework is still fun.

Roll Tide!
