Week 17 Training Update

Miles walked the past week: 22.2

Total Miles: 113.2 miles (only 54 miles until I will have "walked" to Houston)

The boys and I had a great time this week. We are getting into a routine now and I am really starting to enjoy the time out with them. This Saturday, we went for an early morning walk. I know there will be weekends where I will have to go to long-mileage training walks on Saturday and Sunday. So for now, if the mileage is low enough that I can do it with the boys, I am just staying home.

So by 7:30, the boys and I were out in the neighborhood. Since it was the weekend, there was very little traffic, so Sam and I got to talk a good bit. Actually, he talked, and talked, and talked, and I listened...ALOT! He told me all about how great he is at swimming. He volunteered Daddy to build a gate in front of our house, just because he thinks gates are fun. He planned the rest of our day. He named Keith's car (Dan the Camry). We played counting games. We looked for animals and found a bunny, a mouse, three dogs, tons of birds and one unidentified fuzzy tail sticking out of a pile of wood. I decided not to investigate.

By the time we got home, my head was swimming from the non-stop chatter... But it was fun. Considering all that we have been through with Sam, it is great to see those conversational skills emerging.

love the updates and seeing the boys. i'm curious about your training thing - is the schedule online and something you could send me. how do you keep both boys in the stroller on long walks? bennett always seems to want to walk and then it is slow it's pointless!

I love that this is helping you get in shape so we can paint my house this Fall! ;)
