The Halloween Season...

So, this is the first year in my life where Halloween has been a season and not a day. Maybe it's that my kids are older...maybe life is just getting more complicated. I'm not sure. But I do know that this year, Halloween meant one solid week of different costumes and outfits for different occassions. Pajamas for gymnastics class, costumes for speech therapy, hat day, book character day, team day....Yikes! Mommy had to make a "cheat sheet" just to get through it.

It was Red Ribbon Week at Sam's school. They spent the week focusing on "saying no to drugs" and had dress up days to make it fun. Sam had lots of questions about drugs, like "Mommy, doesn't medicine help people? How can medicine be bad?" I thought this was a pretty complicated issue for a four year old. When he got really frustrated trying to understand, in my best "Mommy of the Year" voice, I would say, "It'll make more sense one day, sweetie. Now put on your pajamas. We are late for school!"

So here are some pics from our Halloween season. Stephen was a race car driver. Yes, Alabama friends, the Miller family has unwillingly turned NASCAR! And Sam, once again, was Larry Boy. The great thing about Sam is that he gets so attached to certain ideas, that he wears all of his costumes for 2 years. But we did add a softer hat and cape this year.
