If you don't like the weather in Texas...

In Austin, there is a well-understood truth about the weather. It is quoted about as often as,"I wasn't born in Texas, but I got here as soon as I could."

You ready? Here it comes...

If you don't like the weather in Texas, just wait a minute. It will change.

I have heard this over and over since we moved here and it never made much sense until yesterday.

Yesterday's high was 81 degrees with 93% humidity. It was thick and muggy and unseasonably warm. Then the cold front came through.

This morning, we woke up to find....

Weather for today....High of 50 degrees, low of 27! Now, understand that I am all for cold weather during the Christmas season. It's the severe atmospheric mood swings that are most unsettling to me...specifically, my sinuses.

For weeks, Sam has been asking about snow and I have been preparing his sweet little heart for the upcoming "unwhite" Christmas. He is determined that it will snow here, as well as Savannah, GA. No clue where that one came from.

Sam took one look outside this morning and reported, "See, Mommy! I TOLD YOU that it can snow in Texas."

I stand corrected.
