Happy Moving Day!

As of today, it has been three years since we moved to Austin! Just three years ago today, our little family boarded a plane and headed to Texas, waiting to rendevous with a 53 foot truck holding everything we owned (including BOTH of our cars)!

Even though there are days when we are not so sure how we feel about living here, we have much for which to be thankful. God has taught us so much in the past three years.

Keith and I have grown so much closer. It is amazing how much you learn to depend on each other when you are the only support system you have.

We have learned to trust God with our children, as we have walked the road of diagnosis and treatment with both boys in the last three years.

We have been blessed with an amazing church family that challenges us and spurs us on in our faith. What a gift they are to us!

Lastly, we have been blessed with simply amazing friends that love on us and treat us like family....friends that slept on our couch at 2 AM so I could take Keith (and his gallbladder) to the ER. Friends that babysat Stephen during Sam's countless evaluation/follow-up appointments when he was not allowed to go. Friends that showed up at the hospital with Diet Mt. Dew and chocolate when Keith finally had that troublesome gallbladder removed. Friends that stood in the gap for us with prayers and anonymous financial assistance during the tough early days with Sam. Friends that came and ate "so-so" Italian food just to encourage my heart when I was waiting tables. Indeed, we have much to be thankful for.

So even though we feel "far away" sometimes...and some days, I would give anything for a hug from my mom, we are blessed above and beyond what we deserve. So Happy Moving Day--a day for us to count our blessings and be encouraged as we trust God's plan for our future.
Here we are in front of our old house in Birmingham right before we moved.
Thought our Austin friends would get a kick out of this one.
FYI-- Sam is 2 years and 2 months old. Stephen is a wee 5 months!
