This has been a great Easter season for us. The boys seem to be at just the perfect age. Sam and I got to really talk a good bit about Jesus and his sacrifice. And Stephen seems to just be head-over-heels in love with Easter eggs. We decorated, and hid and hunted, and hid and hunted, and...you get the idea.
Good Friday found four little boys at our house. Keith was home from work and we watched the two sons of a good friend of mine for the morning. We dyed eggs and hunted them in the front yard. The other two boys, ages 2 and 4, love to dress up, so the youngest came in his best cowboy gear. I know it has nothing to do with Easter, but at one point Stephen "borrowed" his outfit. So here's cowboy Stephen. It was a fun morning with a ton of boy energy!
Today, the boys woke up super-excited and played with their Easter baskets. Then, it was off to church. We got a little surprise today! We got to church and just like always, I dropped one boy off to Sunday School while Keith delivered the other. After I finished wrestling Stephen in the door (he's having a few attachment issues these days), I went to meet Keith, who I found standing in the doorway of the worship center, Sam in tow.
I must have looked confused because Sam immediately said, "My class is closed." Long story short, the Sunday School classes for older children didn't meet today. Traditionally, our church cancels everything but the two worship services on Easter to free up parking for visitors. Apparently, Sam is officially old enough for this rule to apply to him. Since we missed church last week, we didn't get that memo. OOPS!
Mommy was concerned...There I stood with no bag, no crayons, no activities to keep him occupied. But he did great! We were sitting really close to the orchestra and choir. He's pretty sensitive to loud sounds, so there were times when he covered his ears. But other than that, he was awesome!
We spent the afternoon hunting eggs with friends at Mike and Susan's house. The weather was perfect and the kids had a great time! Here are some pics from the day:
